In
2003,
Scroggins Aviation of Nevada built a cut-away DC-8 display for the
Oakland Museum of California. The project utilized parts of retired
Eastern Airlines DC-8-21, LN# 41; MSN 45425, N8604. The story can be found
here.

N8604 on February 13, 1964 after departing
San Juan, PR
Shortly after completion of the museum project, the
remains of N8604 were scrapped and sold. Scroggins Aviation salvaged a
part of the fuselage and a few seats in hopes that it could be used for a
museum piece or private collection.
