Thanks to Doug Scroggins of Scroggins Aviation for providing the photos and story.

In 2003, Scroggins Aviation of Nevada built a cut-away DC-8 display for the Oakland Museum of California. The project utilized parts of retired Eastern Airlines DC-8-21, LN# 41; MSN 45425, N8604. The story can be found here.

Shortly after completion of the museum project, the remains of N8604 were scrapped and sold. Scroggins Aviation salvaged a part of the fuselage and a few seats in hopes that it could be used for a museum piece or private collection.

If you or your organization would be interested in owning a fully restored section of Eastern N8604, contact Scroggins Aviation.
